“The Black Space Symposium is back bigger and better”

Today we announce Afro Van Connect Society and Black Space Media Annual Event The Black Space Summit and Symposium 2023 (Sept 21-24) !  This fall we will gather to empower and inspire creativity and ingenuity within our community through diverse panels, workshops, and Artist performances focused on the generating practical and sustainable solution to pervasive and systemic barriers experience by people living in the margins.

The Black Space Symposium invites members of our community including BIPOC, LGBTQ2IA, and our Allies into intentionally curated spaces across the Greater Vancouver Area to engage in progressive dialogue that centers and celebrate the experiences of African Descent people.

We are truly honored and grateful for the warmth, generosity, and support we have received in previous years. The Black Spaces Summit and Symposium intention is to unite artists, activists, professionals, and educators within the African Descent community to honour our heritage, culture, and community. Together we will explore new approaches and modalities that will encourage us all to reimagine the future of space.
